To fully enjoy its flavor, it is advisable to taste it slowly, perhaps accompanying it with some still water or, if you prefer, an ice cube, which can help reduce the alcohol level and further enhance the whiskey's aromas.
Ballyroe is a grain grown by the Simon Neville family at An Baile Rua for three generations. Its sandy terroir proves a challenge during dry spells, giving the whiskey more fruity and floral notes. Aged 36% in American First Fill oak barrels, 21% in virgin American oak barrels, 24% in French oak barrels, and 19% in sweet wine barrels. Aromatic notes of white pepper, orange marmalade and fresh bread stand out, with a long finish.
