Springbank 26YO 48.3% Release 2025

The Springbank distillery is part of Campbeltown's history, but more importantly, it is one of the few survivors of the Campbeltown whiskey crisis, and it is still one of Scotland's most traditional distilleries today. From the malting of the barley laid out on the malting floor to the bottling of the whisky, everything at Springbank is done in-house. The workers handcraft the entire process; there is no computer in the plant.

The Springbank 1998 Vintage 26 Years Old is a lightly peated single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1998. This 2025 release – Batch 25/86 was matured for 26 years in 100% ex-Oloroso sherry casks and is bottled without added colouring and without chill filtration, at 48.3% ABV (cask strength), in a highly limited release of just 1,500 bottles in total.

Nose: Medjool dates, blackberries, white chocolate and caramel notes kick off this first edition in the series.

Palate: There is an earthiness initially on the palate, with notes of shortbread, brandy butter and cloves developing over time.

Finish: The finish brings notes of varnished wood, nutmeg and crystalised ginger.
