Springbank 10YO Local Barley Release 2021
Springbank's Local Barley series is made from barley harvested exclusively in the Kintyre region, where the distillery is located. For this release, the barley comes from Glencraig Farm, located 3 kilometers northeast of Campbeltown, and is of the Belgravian variety. The Springbank 10 Years Old Local Barley Sherry Cask is a lightly peated single malt Scotch whisky that was distilled in 2010 with Belgravian barley and aged for at least 10 years in casks that previously held sherry before being bottled at its natural degree of 51.6% vol. in a total of 15.000 bottles.
Nose: Rich with notes of cereals, fresh grass, sweet and sour garden fruits, lemon zest, vanilla custard, and a hint of cherry that develops over time.
Palate: Slightly coastal and creamy, with notes of vanilla, dried fruit, black pepper, hints of honey, and vanilla beans.
Finish: Persistent, with mineral and salty notes.
