Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 9 - Bourbon & Sherry Cask
Colour: golden amber. Aroma: Matured in Ex Bourbon Cask (90%) and Ex Sherry Cask (10%) they add a character Light notes of peat welcome us which mix with notes of slightly freshly baked shortbread Coconut and smoked green banana peels.
Taste: On the palate we have notes of Digestive Bisquits, Bourbon, caramel, dark chocolate, then cinnamon and floral hints. Finish: Gooseberries and Smoked Peat.
Founded in Campbeltown in 1872, the distillery remained in operation until 1925, when all malt whiskey stocks were sold and all equipment was removed. The remaining buildings, however, were purchased in 2000 by Hedley Wright, owner of Springbank Distillery and a descendant of William Mitchell, who remodeled and reopened Glengyle Distillery in 2004. Kilkerran Cask Strength 9 Years Old Bourbon Cask and Sherry Cask is a peated single malt Scotch whisky aged for at least 9 years in casks previously containing exclusively Bourbon and Sherry bottled at cask strength at 57.5% vol. without being cold filtered or colored.
