Arran Sauternes Cask
Color: Burnished gold.
Aroma: Balanced with notes of honey, melon, apricots, marzipan and a pleasant spiciness and floral hints, with the addition of water notes of banana and hazelnut emerge.
Taste: Medium bodied with notes of honey, orange, vanilla, sultanas with hints of vanilla and a slight saltiness.
Final: Of medium persistence with notes of orange, honey and hints of oak.

The Arran Sauternes Cask Finish is a single malt with no age statement that was matured for about 8 years in American oak barrels that had previously held bourbon before being finished in a selection of Sauternes sweet white wine casks from the Bordeaux region of France. The Arran distillery's master distiller, James MacTaggart, has closely watched the maturation time to create the finest balance between the characteristics of the Sauternes barrels and the classic fruity-sweet character of the Arran malt. Arran Sauternes Cask Finish is bottled unfiltered at 50% strength.
