The aroma is of peach puree, blueberries, honey honeycomb and cold ash, while on the palate there are notes of plum jam, grapefruit and red apples. The finish is sweet apricots, cinnamon and Trappist beer.
Description
A single Bourbon Hogshead distilled on October 8, 2009, transferred to a Hidalgo La Gitana Rioja Sherry cask previously used to mature Cask Islay, bottled on April 12, 2021, at 11 years of age, at 52.5% in 335 proof. Cask makes a significant contribution, with sherry sweetness and light smoky notes. A truly complex whisky.
