Springbank 18YO Cask Strength 46% Release 2022

The Springbank distillery is part of Campbeltown's history, but more importantly, it is one of the few survivors of the Campbeltown whiskey crisis, and it is still one of Scotland's most traditional distilleries today. From the malting of the barley laid out on the malting floor to the bottling of the whisky, everything at Springbank is done in-house. The workers handcraft the entire process; there is no computer in the plant.
Springbank 18 Years Old Cask Strength was first released in 2009 (batch #1), and we are now on the 2022 release of a product that continues to improve year after year. This release is made exclusively from 65% Ex-Sherry Cask and 35% Ex-Bourbon Casks bottled at 46% (natural grade), Non-chill filtered and with no added coloring.

Nose: Hints of dried fruit, raisins and apricots. Slightly earthy and smoky notes, chocolate, caramel. A light touch of salinity reminiscent of Springbank’s coastal environment.
Palate: Citrus notes, oak wood, spices, and hints of peat.
Finish: Medium-long, with light peat smoke, fruity notes, and an oily texture.
