Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 6 Release 2022 - Bourbon & Sherry Cask 57,4%

The Single Malt Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch No. 6 is the sixth release produced by the historic Glengyle distillery, reopened in 2004 after decades and distributed by the Kilkerran brand. It is a whiskey characterized by a high level of peat, around 80ppm, quite different from the others from the distillery. Aging takes place in 75% Ex-Bourbon and partly 25% Ex-Sherry barrels. Bottled at 57,4% full strength, without cold filtration. 

Nose: Sweet and clean with notes of citrus and smoky peat, vanilla cheesecake, rhubarb, and custard desserts.
Palate: Apple pie, sweet-salty caramel. The peat is well integrated.
Finish: Long and creamy, with notes of toasted oak, sweet and fruity peat smoke.
