Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 5 Release 2021 - Bourbon & Sherry Cask 57,7%

The Single Malt Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch No. 5 is the fifth release produced by the historic Glengyle distillery, reopened in 2004 after decades and distributed by the Kilkerran brand. It is a whiskey characterized by a high level of peat, around 80ppm, quite different from the others from the distillery. Aging takes place in 85% Ex-bourbon and partly 15% Ex-Sherry barrels. Bottled at 57,7% full strength, without cold filtration. 

Nose: Oak and toasted grains, hints of brown sugar, oatmeal cakes.
Palate: Red fruit, charred wood, notes of lemon and flamed orange peel.
Finish: Sea salt.
