Distinguished as a Master at the prestigious Mastro de Paja house (Sandro Pertini's pipe) in which he held the role of Production Director until 1981, Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo dalla Gemma in 1983 which immediately stands out for the refined workmanship of its Collections.
To date Ser Jacopo pipes, a recognizable indication in the finish of the mouthpiece can be useful; until 1997 this bore a red coral dot surrounded by a silver crown, which was later replaced by a silver "J".
