Savinelli Pipes

Just a few steps from the Duomo, in the center of Milan, sites and guidebooks point to a historic store worth visiting, still in business today. This is the store opened in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, quickly becoming a point of reference not only for late 19th-century pipe lovers but also for the cultural life of the Lombard capital.

Savinelli pipe production began shortly thereafter, opening the Barasso factory and gradually improving production until, in the immediate postwar period, it reached the same standard of quality as foreign-made pipes. His grandson Giancarlo, now in the third generation of the Savinelli dynasty, continues to lead the company today, always in a close and close-knit dialogue between innovation and tradition.
